I've been doing this since 2018. In that time, the group has grown from a couple dozen, to about 250 members. For that reason, your cooperation is really appreciated.
I don't mind helping when you're having questions or having trouble finding what you're looking for. All I ask is that you have read this howto carefully first. If you can't find the information you're looking for, then perhaps this document needs an update.
Typically we are going to have a single date for each show. I'm sorry if the date doesn't work for you, I encourage you to buy tickets directly from the DCPA.
We have been lucky this year that the DCPA has allowed us to reserve a lot of extra tickets to handle some growth in the group. Most show have tickets.
Start here and follow the link to: "Request/change ticket orders"
If tickets are available, you can increase your order any time, up to the site limit (12) or the number of tickets available. If you need more than the site limit, please contact the group leader directly.
Before the payment due date, you can reduce your order freely on the site. If you’ve already paid, you’ll need to let the group leader know to process a refund.
If you need to reduce your order after the payment due date, you may REQUEST AN EXCEPTION by contacting the group leader directly and there is a $5.00 fee per ticket.
I send multiple reminders. I don’t want to collect ANY of these fees. I just want folks to pay for or release their tickets by the payment due date.
The DCPA has changed to a new ticketing system. It’s a bit of a pain, but they are trying to keep their tickets out of the hands of ticket brokers that add huge margins.
When the tickets get put in the group’s wallet, I will send links out that will allow you to add the tickets to your DCPA Ticket wallet. This wallet is all done by the DCPA.
If you want to transfer them to someone else, you’ll need to return them to the group’s wallet and they’ll be resent from there.
Alternatively, the website allows you to make a request to have the tickets printed and held at will-call. It’s very important that these requests are made when the group sales department will see it during their working hours.
Payment due notifications will now be sent by default using emails and text messages.
Please don't reply to text messages, I won't be checking replies and they cost me a tiny little bit.
At this time Venmo is the only approved payment method.
My Venmo ID is Charles-Luciano-1 and it will ask for the `last for digits of my phone number` which are 8500
Read this carefully:
Finally, ABSOLUTELY DO NOT hit the button marked "Turn on for purchases". This causes Venmo to charge me a fee, and also makes the transaction a taxable event for me. If this happens, there will be a $5.00 fee per ticket. Really, just don't do it.
I'm afraid that once you've paid for your tickets, they're yours, but, if there is a waitlist, I'll help facilitate getting them to someone else and getting you refunded. If not, people resell their tickets all the time. You're free to post them for sale in the FaceBook group, I am connected with other similar FaceBook groups. I have found buyers for tickets through other connections as well.
To my knowledge, nobody has ever gotten stuck with a ticket they couldn't use.
As we move forward, we're going to be using Facebook less and less, and this site more and more.
